Fees
My standard rates for individuals and couples are:
- Ongoing face-to-face session: £80 for individuals, £100 for couples
- Online sessions: £70 for individuals, £90 for couples
Most clients find that they need to engage in at least 6 sessions in order to start creating change. Many clients find it useful to continue in therapy for longer periods: 6 months, 1 year, or longer.
If you agree to have therapy with me, there is a requirement to meet for a minimum of one session per week to begin with. Session frequency can be reviewed if we all feel we have reached a good level of change and we are now working towards an ending.
Payment by bank transfer/PayPal/cash must be made before the start of your session. Failure to do so may impact our ability to schedule future sessions. If you foresee any issues with payment, please notify me as soon as possible so we can make alternative arrangements.
I review my fee structure on a yearly basis, you will be given at least three months’ notice of any change to fees. Please note that you will not be invoiced per session, but receipts/invoices are available on request.
Session Duration
Sessions are of 50 minutes in duration, though longer sessions can be arranged, particularly in the case of working with 2 or more people. They will start and end on time. Signing this document means you agree for our contact to be done via email or SMS.
The frequency of the sessions is weekly, to begin with. Once we feel that we have covered the majority of the work, we can arrange to decrease the frequency to fortnightly sessions.
I work with both time-limited sessions or on an open-ended basis, which means that you may end our work together at any point you feel ready. However, I ask that we meet for at least a final session after you have let me know about your decision to leave.
Confidentiality
The contract between us is confidential. Confidentiality will only be broken if I have concerns that you or anyone else is at risk, disclosures required by law or by my professional association. If this occurs, it will be discussed with you and any recommendations will be discussed and documented.
I am a Registered Member of the College of Sex and Relationship Therapy (COSRT) and the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Addiction & Compulsivity (ATSAC), I adhere to their ethical framework and guidelines to ensure that you receive a professional and competent service.
My professional governing body, COSRT, requires that I have regular supervision for my client work. In supervision, some of the content from our sessions will be discussed with other professionals – this is done to ensure that I am providing you with a safe and therapeutic environment. Again, supervision sessions are held in the strictest confidence.
Per the Data Professional Act of 1998 and GDPR, any records of our session will be kept confidential and held securely.
Cancelling sessions
Please only cancel our session if there is a real emergency (and I will commit to the same). Where there are planned breaks, such as holidays, medical appointments or work commitments (such as training), please give me at least a week’s notice. If you cancel a session without giving 48 hours notice, you agree to be charged in full for the missed session. I charge for missed sessions, as my work hours and overhead costs are not changeable.
If sessions are frequently cancelled (3 sessions in a row or a regular pattern of cancellations), we may need to suspend appointments until a more suitable time.
Occasionally, I might not be available due to my training or pre-arranged professional commitments or holidays. I will give you at least a week’s notice whenever possible. In the event that I am unable to make our session together, I will endeavour to offer you an alternative time to meet.
Consultations
I offer a 30 mins consultation session via Zoom, charged at £30. If you decide to continue therapy with me, this fee will be deducted from your first session fee. This session gives us an opportunity to find out if we are suited to work together, and will aid you to understand what ongoing therapy with me will involve.
Unfortunately, my low-cost spaces are now fully booked and my waiting list for low-cost therapy is closed until the middle of 2026 or later.
If you want to book a session, please get in touch.
